These terms govern your use of altarisadvisory.co.uk and our associated online Quote Portal, including any private quotation-review pages. By using these facilities, you agree to these terms. They explain the status of indicative quotations and how to use them responsibly.
1. About us and these terms
The site is operated by Altaris Advisory Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17185606, registered office 1 Belvedere, Ramsey, Huntingdon, PE26 2XZ. Contact: hello@altarisadvisory.co.uk.
These terms cover use of the website only. Any services we provide are governed by our Terms of Business and the formal fee proposal we issue. Our Privacy and Cookie Policy explains how we handle personal data.
We may update these terms by changing this page. Please check it each time you use the site.
2. The instant quote portal
The portal gives you an instant, indicative fee based on the answers you select and enter, such as contract value, programme length and any site visits.
- A displayed fee is not an offer. It does not by itself create an appointment or any contract between you and us.
- Submitting is not an order. Submitting an enquiry or requesting that Altaris contact you about proceeding does not appoint us or create a contract. We may acknowledge the enquiry or send an indicative quotation by email.
- We review every submission. Before confirming an appointment, we review the scope, programme, complexity and available information. Where the actual requirements materially differ from your answers, we may propose a revised fee for your agreement.
- The formal Proposal is what counts. A professional appointment is made only following a formal written Proposal and the written acceptance or confirmation described in our Terms of Business. Any statutory CDM Principal Designer appointment must be in writing.
- Your answers must be accurate. The quotation relies on the information you provide, including the anticipated start date, project programme, scope and site location. If works have already started, or details materially change, we may need to review the fee and scope.
- Site visit costs are estimates. Travel elements are calculated from the site postcode using a mapping service and our cost schedule. Actual routes, access arrangements and visit durations may change the final fee.
- Errors. If a fee is obviously wrong because of a technical or pricing error, we are not bound by it and will tell you the correct figure.
- VAT. Any displayed fee is exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. VAT will only be charged where Altaris is registered and legally required to do so.
You are under no obligation to proceed after requesting an indicative quotation. A client’s review of a quotation, including clicking a request-to-proceed or contact button, is an enquiry, not a formal appointment.
Professional referrals. If you use the portal for a client, you must have authority to share the client’s details and arrange for an indicative quotation to be sent to them. You must tell the client that Altaris will receive their details and may email them directly about that specific enquiry. The client can review the quotation and decide whether to contact Altaris. A referring professional does not become the client, or acquire authority to appoint us, simply by using the portal.
3. Information on the site, intellectual property and acceptable use
General information only. Content on the site, including guidance on CDM 2015, the Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act, is general information. It is not professional advice for your project. Do not rely on it without taking advice specific to your circumstances. We aim to keep it accurate and current but do not guarantee it.
Intellectual property. We own or license all content on the site, including text, the Altaris name and logo, graphics, the quote portal and its pricing logic. You may view and print pages for your own reference. You may not copy, reproduce, scrape or reverse-engineer the site or the portal, or use our content or branding commercially, without our written permission.
Acceptable use. You must not:
- submit false or misleading information, or provide a third party’s contact details without authority
- use automated tools to extract data or pricing from the site
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server or any connected system
- introduce viruses or other harmful material, or carry out a denial-of-service attack
- use the site in any way that breaks the law
We may suspend or restrict access to the site, or to the portal, at any time. We do not guarantee the site will always be available or free from errors.
4. Liability, links and governing law
Our liability. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
If you use the site for business purposes, we are not liable for any loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts or opportunity, or for any indirect or consequential loss, arising from use of, or inability to use, the site or reliance on its content or on a displayed fee.
If you are a consumer, we provide the site for domestic and private use only. We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care, but not for business losses.
Our liability for any services we provide is set out in our Terms of Business, not these terms.
Links. Links to other websites (such as the HSE or GOV.UK) are for information only. We have no control over those sites and are not responsible for them.
Linking to us. You may link to our home page in a fair and lawful way that does not suggest any endorsement we have not given.
Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
